| Did you know that the wide range of dance shoe fashions is not only aesthetic, but also developed to assist your technique for the specific dance styles? You wouldn't wear soccer cleats for a volleyball game and you shouldn't be wearing Latin shoes when dancing the waltz-if you want the best results from your dancing and the most comfort! Read on and discover what unique features each shoe style offers. |
Shoes for International Standard:
International standard dancers would select a classic court style shoe. These shoes are always closed toed, with either rounded or pointed toe styles. | Rounded Toe Court Pump Style - CD5027M |
Pointed Toe with Arch Strap Style - CD5100M | Sometimes a strap may go across the instep, or the shoe may be elastized to hold it to the foot. Typically standard dancers prefer the flesh colored satin to create a long leg line, but sometimes match their shoes to their dress color. In this case, purchase white satin shoes and dye to match.

Many times there is no strap at all, for a pump style look. Shoes can be further enhanced with rhinestone details. |

 Clear Elastic Straps
| Even with correct fit, you might find a clear elastic strap gives you greater security by holding the shoe to your foot. This product is specifically useful for the court-type pump and ensures that your shoe won't fly off mid-dance! Because they are clear, they blend right in with your foot and shoe without compromising the look of the shoe itself. |
Shoes for American Smooth:
American smooth styles offer the innovative looks of a Latin shoe, with the necessary techincal structure of the standard style pumps. These shoes also feature closed toes, but offer more variety with straps and design than Standard shoes.

Shoes for Social Dancing:
Social dancers have the greatest variety of choices for dance shoes. Although structure is of course important, the shoe's design can be more flexible as it will typically not be receiving the sheer amount of power and speed that a competitive dancer will demand from her shoes. This allows for a range of fashionable styles, including open back heels. | Open Back Heels Style - PP 202 |
Spectators - a swing & Lindy favorite Style - C Series 6034 | Salsa, Lindy and Argentine Tango dancers might gravitate towards styles that are inline with the dress fashion of those genres. |
For competitive dancing, mainly tans and blacks (if black fishnets are being worn) are customary to create long leg lines, but for social dancing, there are many choices for fabric colors and materials. | Fashion material and print Style - PL98 |
Shoes for Practice and Teaching:
Dancers on their feet for long hours whether practicing or teaching, will find relief in our selection of practice shoes. These shoes offer all over foot covering and a lower heel which provides more support. | mid height heel Style - C Series 1689 |
Perforated leather Style - C Series 2001 | Even the fabrics used, perforated leathers and mesh, allow for greater air flow keeping feet cooler and allowing them to breathe. |
Dance sneakers are a great choice for both practice and casual social dancing. With their rubber sole, they can easily go from indoor to outdoor without worry of damage, unlike the suede sole of other dance shoes. | Sneaker Style - VFSN silver & black |
